Skipper's Match Report - Batcombe & Upton Noble 21st May 2011

I know! Includes some normally solid catchers –

Drops:

  1. Plod 2 drops
  2. Ali 2 drops
  3. Morsey 1 drop

Both Ali and Plod redeemed themselves, with Morsey hoovering some good balls in the field and I only let through one bye (went for 4), much improved on the previous week.

Batnobs acquired a local (Evercreech) youngster, Josh, for us, and they reduced their team to 9, ie 9 v 9. We batted really well, pissed up (recovering) Reesy on a 109 n.o., George on 40+, Dad not far behind, Josh similar, Ali similar with Stotty & me adding 35 between us. Morsey gains “Goldie” cap, with swish, hit, catch, giggle and walk! Fielding was excellent, especially from an extended (grown 8” in 12 months), normally dis-interested, “whatever”, Callum. 304 was going to be a tough total to reach – think they got about 160..

All played in very good spirits, good levels of fun without pissing the opposition off by lack off attention to the game.

All in all might be a Ringers record and a game to savour.

Maybe we adopt a new format for the game, 9-aside?
